How pricing works

Plans give you credits. Credits run every tool.

Pika's billing model is intentionally simple: each plan includes a monthly allotment of credits, and every Pika tool text-to-video, image-to-video, lip-sync, longer-form Pikaframes, the Pikaffects library, AI Powers styling, and live PikaStream meetings pulls from that same pool. No separate add-on fees per tool. No per-second metering for video. One wallet, one set of numbers to track.

Each tool costs a different number of credits depending on what you're rendering. A short Pika 2.5 draft at 480p is the cheapest line item. A full 25-second Pikaframes extension at 1080p with stacked AI Powers effects is at the other end. The full per-tool credit table is below keep it nearby when planning a campaign so you can budget upfront instead of being surprised at the end of the month.

If you run out of credits before the month resets, top up with a token pack pricing scales generously with size, so larger packs deliver better per-credit value. Tokens never expire on paid plans and stack with your monthly allotment. The combination predictable plans plus on-demand top-ups is what lets the same pricing structure work for a hobbyist shipping one TikTok a week and an agency rendering a hundred ad variations a day.

Token packs for campaign spikes.

Need a burst of compute for a launch, a campaign, or a heavy testing day? Token packs scale on top of your monthly plan. Bigger packs land at better per-credit prices.

Pick the right plan

Match your workflow.

Four creator profiles, four plan recommendations. Use this as a starting point — most creators land within one tier of where this lands them.

i
Recommended · Basic

Curious about AI video

You want to test the platform, see what 2.5 looks like, try Pikaformance on a selfie, and compare against other tools. Basic gives you 150 credits / month — enough for around 10 short drafts at 720p, plus a handful of Pikaformance lip-syncs.

ii
Recommended · Standard

Hobbyist creator shipping social posts

You're posting one to three short-form clips a week to TikTok, Reels, or Shorts. Standard's 700 credits cover ~25 standard generations a month, plus stacking style presets and Pikaffects. Watermark-free + commercial rights from Standard up.

iii
Recommended · Pro

Serious creator or small marketer

Daily output, ad campaigns, longer Pikaframes work, occasional PikaStream meetings. Pro's 2,300 credits and Turbo Mode change the iteration loop entirely — you can test 5 prompt variations and only commit credits to the winner.

iv
Recommended · Fancy

Agency, studio, or high-volume team

Multiple creators, batch jobs, client deliverables, brand-deal matchmaking. Fancy's 6,000 credits, account manager, and SLA give a team the predictability they need to plan campaigns weeks in advance.

Save credits

Six ways to stretch your budget.

Patterns that consistently lower per-clip cost without lowering quality. Pulled from creators who run high volume on Pro and Fancy plans.

i

Draft on shorts, commit on finals

Generate 5-second drafts at 720p to nail the prompt and timing. Only commit Pro Mode 1080p credits to the version you're actually shipping.

ii

Lean on Turbo Mode

3× faster renders at 7× fewer credits. Use Turbo for 80% of iteration; reserve standard generation for the polished final pass.

iii

Batch top-ups in bigger packs

The 15,000-token pack costs the same per-token as the 800. The advantage is fewer purchase clicks across the year — and a smoother top-up cadence.

iv

Upload reference images

Image-to-video produces stronger first-pass results than text alone. Fewer regenerations to nail consistency = fewer credits spent.

v

Compose chains over individual ops

Generate + style + effect + sticker as one compose chain costs less in aggregate than running each operation separately. The API exposes the full chain in one call.

vi

Annual billing saves 20%

Same plan, two months free if you commit yearly. Worth doing once you've decided which tier you actually want — usually after the first month on Standard or Pro.

Billing & FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is there really a free plan? +
Yes. The Basic plan is free forever and includes 150 credits per month, access to Pika 2.5 at 720p, Pikaformance up to 10 seconds, and 5 style presets in AI Powers. The intent is for you to test the platform on real projects before deciding whether to upgrade. Watermarked downloads and personal-use only — for commercial or watermark-free output, you'll need Standard or above.
What's a credit and how do I budget for them? +
A credit is the universal unit Pika uses to price every operation. A 5-second 720p text-to-video clip costs around 15 credits. A 25-second 1080p Pikaframes extension can cost 120. The per-tool table above shows typical costs for the most common operations. The live app always displays the exact credit cost before you confirm any render — no surprise charges. To budget, count your average render volume per month and pick a plan whose monthly allotment covers it with about 20% headroom.
Do unused credits roll over to the next month? +
Monthly plan credits don't roll over — they reset on your billing date each month. Token packs you purchase separately, however, never expire on paid plans and stack on top of your monthly allotment. So a common pattern is to use plan credits first each month and tap into top-up tokens only when you exhaust them.
Can I switch plans mid-month? +
Yes. Upgrades are immediate and prorated — you pay only for the remaining days at the new tier, and your credit allotment increases instantly. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle, so you keep the higher-tier benefits until renewal. There are no upgrade or downgrade fees.
Yearly vs monthly — which is better? +
Yearly billing saves about 20% — effectively two free months for committing to a year. Best for creators who already know which tier fits their workflow. Most users start on monthly for the first one or two months to validate the choice, then switch to annual once they're confident. You can change between yearly and monthly at any renewal date.
Are commercial rights included? +
Standard, Pro, and Fancy plans include full commercial rights — meaning you can use Pika outputs in client work, ads, monetized content, and brand campaigns. Basic (free) is limited to personal use only. AI provenance metadata is preserved on every export regardless of plan, but watermarking is removed from Standard up.
Does API usage pull from the same credit pool? +
Yes. The Pika Agent API draws from your account's credit balance — the same pool that the web app and iOS app use. If you build a high-volume product on the API, you'll typically want Pro or Fancy plus token top-ups. For very high volume, Pika offers custom enterprise agreements; contact the team via the developer portal to discuss volume pricing.
What payment methods are accepted? +
Pika accepts all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) globally, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay through the iOS app. Fancy tier customers can request invoice billing for company accounts. Cryptocurrency payment is not currently supported.
Do you offer student or educator discounts? +
Pika has run periodic discount programs for students, educators, and non-profits. The Basic free plan is also strong enough for most classroom and student use cases. For institutional pricing across a department or school, the Fancy team plan with custom invoicing is usually the right starting point — contact support for educational pricing details.
Can I cancel anytime? +
Yes — cancel any time from your account settings. On monthly plans, your access continues until the end of the current billing cycle, then drops to Basic. On annual plans, you keep the paid tier through the rest of your year, and the plan won't auto-renew. There are no cancellation fees and no minimum commitment beyond the billing period you've already paid for.
Is there a refund policy? +
Pika offers a 14-day refund window on first-time subscription purchases if you've used fewer than 50% of the included monthly credits. Token pack purchases are generally non-refundable once tokens have been used. For specific situations — accidental purchase, billing error, technical issue affecting renders — contact support and the team will work with you in good faith.
What happens if I run out of credits mid-render? +
The app calculates credit cost upfront and won't start a render unless you have enough credits to complete it. If your balance is low going into a session, you'll see a top-up prompt before the render starts. This avoids any half-finished, half-charged scenarios. For bulk batch jobs, the app verifies the entire batch's credit requirement before queuing.
